Squamous Cell Carcinoma Treatment

 

Treating squamous cell carcinoma typically involves one of the following procedures:

 

  • Excision – Surgical removal of cancerous tissue.  Most excisions can be done in the doctor's office with local anesthesia

  • ElectroDessication and curettage (ED&C) - Curetting (scraping) and using electricity to destroy cancerous cells

  • Radiation therapy
