Fungal Infections

 

Healthy skin has a small amount of fungus and bacteria growing on it.  Each keeps the other in check.

But sometimes the fungus get out of control.  These are the most common type of fungal infections:

Athlete's foot

Jock itch

Ringworm

Thrush

Tinea Versicolor

Toenail Fungus

Baby's Feet

Preventive measures

 

Keep skin clean and dry

Take your shoes off at home

Avoid using anti-bacterial products

Avoid scrubbing or scratching the skin

Avoid washcloths

Oral therapies (pills)

Anti-fungal creams can be prescribed
